Overview
This section dives into the functionalities related to managing user accounts within inSync.
Auto Preserve Settings
inSync streamlines user management by creating and managing user accounts based on your configuration. This includes a smart feature called auto-preserve that helps safeguard user data by preserving unmapped and deleted users. By default, auto-preserve is disabled for customers.
Procedure to Enable Auto Preserve
To enable this setting from the Druva Management Console:
Go to Users > User Provisioning.
In the Summary section, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-left corner.
Select Edit.
In the Google Workspace Settings window, check Auto preserve unmapped users.
Click Save.
When Users are Auto Preserved
Regardless of whether auto preserve is enabled, active users are preserved under the following conditions:
The user is removed from Google Directory groups.
The user is suspended in Google Directory.
The user is archived in Google Directory.
Import Users
You can import and add a users using the Import Users from Google Directory option.
User Import Procedure:
In the Druva Management Console, go to Users.
Click Import > Import Users from Google Directory.
In the Import Users window, provide the following:
Email Address: Search and select the email addresses of users to import.
Storage: Choose the storage location for user data.
Profile: Assign a profile to the selected users.
Send activation email to newly added users: Check this to notify users via email. This is selected by default.
Click Save.
Managing Manually Imported Users
If users are imported manually using CSV or API, and later Google Directory is selected as the provisioning method:
Users found in Google Directory will be provisioned through it in future syncs.
Users not present in Google Directory will continue to be provisioned manually.
