About the inSync account activation email

Applicable to Client versions -

Windows - v7.1.0 & above | macOS - v6.5.1 , & above | Linux - v5.9.x & above

Overview

You receive an activation email when your administrator creates an inSync account for you. This activation email contains the following information:

  • Server URL

  • Email address

  • Password - This will vary based on the authentication type mentioned in the inSync profile where the user belongs

    • Login using - inSync Password - There will be a link to set a new password.

    • Login using - AD/LDAP Account - The password field in your inSync account activation email will be blank. Use your Active Directory/LDAP Password for authentication.

    • Login using - Single Sign-on - The password field in your inSync account activation email will be blank.Keep the password field blank. You will be redirected to the single sign-on authentication page.

  • Link to download the inSync installer.

The following images illustrate the contents of a sample activation email. Your administrator can customize the contents of the activation email. Therefore, the email you receive can be different.
