Overview
Druva inSync design fosters an intuitive experience for administrators to better manage and deploy Druva inSync on user devices, perform backups, restore data to end-user devices as and when required, and furthermore enables you to monitor for non-compliance.
As an inSync administrator, you can perform these activities and various configurations from the inSync Management Console.
Let us take a look at some of the key terminologies that you shall see on the inSync Management Console and some insights of it.
Field | Description |
inSync Cloud | Storage space utilized by Druva in AWS Cloud to enable organizations to protect their employees' data securely with high availability. |
inSync Client | An agent/software that is installed on the end-user devices that enables inSync to perform scheduled backups and enables the end-users to restore the data on the device when required. π Note |
inSync Administrators | The different administrator role/accounts that you can create from the inSync Management Console for handling different responsibilities on the inSync Management Console and end-users devices:
The Druva Cloud Administrator role is available only in Druva Cloud Platform Console |
inSync User | The employee whose device or Cloud App account is configured for backup in inSync. |
inSync Management Console | A unified interface that is intended for the inSync administrators to access inSync Cloud, configure inSync, and perform various activities related to managing users (their employees) and their devices. |
inSync Web | A console that is intended for the inSync end-users that can be accessed over the web when the end-users do not have access to their configured device and enables them to access their backed up data with the option to download it based on organization policy. |
inSync Connector | inSync Connector or AD/LDAP Connector is a software application that needs to be installed on a Windows device or a server within your organization network. inSync Connector is required in the following scenarios -

Storage or Storage region | The AWS region where the backed-up data from the configured data sources is stored securely. |
Profile | An entity that is associated with every user configured for backup in inSync. A profile defines the backup settings such as -

Active user | A user whose data is being actively backed up and under protection. |
Preserved user | A user whose data is no longer being backed up, but protected data remains secured within inSync until the user account is auto-deleted. |
User on Legal Hold | A user who cannot be deleted or the data under protection cannot be deleted. |
Cloud Key Management System (KMS) | The Cloud Key Management feature is a secured method to backup the SaaS Application data. |
