About agent or proxy deployment using the common agent
Updated over a week ago

Enterprise Workloads Editions: โœ… Business | โœ… Enterprise | โœ… Elite

Using the common Hybrid Workloads agent, you can install a single agent and activate it for different workloads on a Windows or Linux server, or Windows client or macOS thereby saving time for installing and activating the agent individually for each workload.

๐Ÿ“ Note

โ€‹Windows client and macOS support apply only to Nutanix AHV workload.

Benefits

You can use this feature to:

  • Download only one common Hybrid Workloads agent to protect multiple workloads.

  • One-time installation of the Hybrid Workloads agent on the Windows Server or Windows Client or macOS.

  • Activate multiple workloads simultaneously using the common Agent Activation screen on your Windows server, Windows client, and macOS client.

Use Case

Letโ€™s say you have File Servers, NAS, and Nutanix AHV workloads you want to protect. You can deploy multiple workloads from the same common Agent Activation screen. For example, if you activate the agent for File Servers, you can activate the other NAS proxy and deploy the Nutanix AHV proxy in the same window using the common Agent Activation screen. This reduces the overall time to deploy the proxy on your server for different workloads.
